Our Story

From the islands to Berawa.

Our story started in 2014 on Gili Air, a slow island, eleven beachfront rooms, salt on everything. Mowies Bali brings that same feeling to Canggu: sunshine on the table, fresh food on the plate, friendly faces behind the bar.

Come in for a best breakfast in Canggu debate. Stay for a swim. Work from the long table with the good wifi. Then, you know, do it all again tomorrow.

The eggs were perfectly poached and the miso hollandaise was unique, something I haven’t had before. You do need to eat this dish relatively quickly as the croquette gets soggy from the sauce and runny yolk fast, and the smoked salmon starts cooking from the heat of being sandwiched between the egg and croquette. Overall so good and I’d definitely be back to try other dishes, they have a protein performance section and I appreciate that they outline the nutrient and protein details on the larger menu like many health conscious cafes in Bali do. Great vibe, minus one star for atmosphere because they don’t have AC (since it’s an open cafe format with the pool). Otherwise, I’d definitely linger and work.

Everything is incredibly healthy, fresh, and high quality, but above all, it feels genuinely nourishing. You leave feeling like you’ve given your body something truly good, both physically and energetically. The menu is also perfect for athletes or anyone mindful of their nutrition, with options that make it easy to keep track of macros and calories. And even the desserts are unbelievably delicious while still fitting into a healthy lifestyle! The place itself feels like a little sanctuary. It’s peaceful, super chill, and calming… almost like stepping into another space and time. You come here to eat and leave genuinely recharged. The staff are absolutely lovely too, which makes the whole experience even better. I’ve been in Canggu for a few months now, and out of all the places I’ve tried, this is definitely where I eat the best. The food is simply fantastic. An absolute gem. ❤️
